Background
Strathfield Council is launching Strathfield Summer Sounds — a new live music and busking trial designed to activate our town centres throughout December and create a more vibrant, welcoming atmosphere in the lead-up to Christmas.
We’re inviting performers of all styles to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to be part of this initiative. Whether you’re emerging or established, this is a great opportunity to showcase your talent and help bring our centres to life.
Program Overview
Dates:
Saturdays – 29 November to 27 December 2025
Locations & Timeslots:
• Strathfield Square: 10am–12pm & 6pm–8pm
• Homebush (Rochester St & The Crescent): 10am–12pm
• Homebush West (Henley Rd & The Crescent): 10am–12pm
Performers may be placed in one or multiple locations depending on availability and program needs.
Requirements for Performers
To participate, performers must:
✔ Bring their own instruments/equipment (battery-powered only)
✔ Deliver a 2-hour set suitable for a family-friendly environment
✔ Hold valid Public Liability Insurance (minimum $20 million)
✔ Comply with Strathfield Council’s Busking Guidelines
Fees / Payments
This is a trial program. Performers may receive payment depending on experience and availability. This will be discussed and confirmed once your EOI is received.
Selection Criteria
EOIs will be assessed on:
• Suitability of performance for a public setting
• Diversity of genres
• Availability for program dates
• Contribution to creating a vibrant town centre atmosphere
• Alignment with Council’s busking policy
