Discovering AI for Family History: Getting Started with Confidence Artificial Intelligence isn't just for tech experts; it's already transforming the way family historians research, write, and share their discoveries. In this session, Andrew Redfern, a recognised leader at the intersection of Family History and AI, will demystify what Artificial Intelligence is and show how it is already being used in everyday genealogical work. Whether you're just getting started or ready to explore new tools, you'll gain practical insights, real examples, and clear strategies to help you use AI confidently to uncover, preserve, and tell your family's story. Andrew Redfern is a passionate family historian and technology educator. Since his initial interest in researching his family tree in the mid-1980s, Andrew has developed a deep interest in how technology can enhance the way we explore and preserve our family histories.

The integration of AI into his genealogical toolkit was a natural progression and he is excited by the possibilities while remaining aware of the limitations. His work on AI and Family History has been sought after by numerous family history groups in both Australia and internationally.

He is a current director of Society of Australian Genealogists and continues to discover interesting stories about his forebears including War heroes, travelling musicians and a convict who was on the run for twelve months.This session will be a streamed online event and will include a Q&A section.Bookings essential.
