An opportunity has arisen for an experienced degree qualified Early Childhood Director to lead and manage a strong professional team of a 60 place education and care long day care program catering to children 2 to 6 years. Our client is a well-regarded not for profit community based service meeting the needs of families and Eastern suburb community. They require a skilled, capable, professional early childhood leader to work autonomously and collaboratively with the management committee in providing and supporting the delivery of a high quality education and care setting.
 
Your role is to demonstrate strong people management skills, leadership skills in education and management; overseeing the provision of stimulating programs, smooth day to day operation of the service adhering to the National Quality Framework and National Regulations. Working knowledge of and conversant in the EYLF, NQS, NQF, and National Law is key to your success. You will have excellent communication skills, able to lead by example and be an effective change agent. This team are committed, engaged and eager to take the development of this service forward with new leadership and drive. Your passion for educating children and providing the best opportunities for children to reach their potential should shape and inform your philosophy.
 
Essential:

  • Degree qualified early childhood teaching degree recognised by ACECQA
  • Knowledge of Educational Care Services National Regulations
  • Engagement with the National Quality Framework (NQF)
  • Effective team leadership skills and the ability to guide and support teams through pedagogical leadership
  • Knowledge and experience in Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF) and assessment process
  • Interest and desire to work with all age groups 2 to 5 years
  • Current Working with children check clearance
  • Approved Asthma, Anaphylaxis, First Aid Training or commitment to undertake training
  • Approved Child Protection qualifications or willingness to undertake
  • Strong communication skills both written and communication
  • Ability to work cooperatively and cohesively with teams and management board
  • Experience of working in community setting with management committee

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and experience with HubWorks children services data base
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
